Hello, my name is Jeff Havelka. I am a graduate student and graduate assistant wrestling coach at Waynesburg University. I am a 2010 graduate of the University of Findlay in northwest Ohio. While at Findlay I earned a bachelor of science in education and majored in Health and Physical Education. I also spent five years on the wrestling team. I will graduate from Waynesburg University in August 2012, and I hope to secure a teaching position in Health and Physical Education as well as a head wrestling coach in college or high school. I am from Burgettstown Pennsylvania and was a 2005 graduate of Burgettstown High School. Currently my time is spent working and traveling to wrestling tournaments almost every weekend. I have had the chance to meet many people and see many different college campuses. Out of the season I help run the TOSS wrestling club, fish when I can, and spend time at my lake.
My website will be centered around physical education and health. Promoting a healthy lifestyle with regular physical activity is something I am very passionate about. This passion is something I will strive to pass on to my students and their parents so they have the information necessary to lead a healthy life.

YouTube: Childhood Obesity
For students, schools, and families across our nation childhood obesity has become an epidemic. Childhood obesity affects a large percentage of our nations youth and does not look to subside unless something is done immediately to educate our youth as well as their parents. During this lesson students will explore childhood obesity and its causes. Also, students will research and engage in physical activities that are safe and fun in school with their peers as well as after school with their friends and families. Together we will explore you tube, internet articles, and online journals to find ways to combat this disease. As we move throughout the lesson the students will better understand what childhood obesity is. They will also see and read about students living with the disease in their daily lives. During this time the students will learn different ways to prevent the disease. |
